Past musical adventures.
Throughout the years I enjoyed working on several projects of my own and I got to play with a lot of talented people whose projects I joined. Some for a (very) short period of time, some for years and years.
I'm grateful for all these encounters and experiences.
Some bands and artists:
Mia Thought and Something Happened, Aura, Trio at Dawn, Rubik's Cue, Briskey and Briskey Big Band, Eva De Roovere, Billie King, Amaryllis, Beatles on the Roof, Marco Z, Motek, COEM, Funx Force Five, Katy Too, Krakow, Houston Attic All Stars, Wander, The Happy, Tour of Duty Band, Great Balls of Choir,...
Felt like a fish in the water taking part in some cool crossover projects like: Bukowski and More (live improvisation/spoken word with Daniel Daemen and Tejo Verstappen), Jiraiya The Hero (live soundtrack with Pol Meunier for Modemuseum (Hasselt)), Osama The Hero (theater piece performed by de Queeste), Artikel 27 (live improvisation inspired by artwork expo) and Blurred Seasons (improvisation with big Micha Volders ensemble).
Another special project called Tiger Meets Lamb (multidisciplinary performance based on the poems and art of William Blake) for C-Mine (Genk) never saw the light of day because of the covid crisis. I already finished the music and artist Tejo Verstappen finished the digital paintings. What a shame that was. But who knows what the future brings?
In 2019 I wrote the soundtrack for the touching podcast of Eva Droogmans called Anders Nabij.
She tells the tragic story of five families that each lost a child. How they try to deal with their grieve and get back on their feet as life continues. These interviews made a deep impression on me and composing was quite emotional. It made me realize even more that being grateful for your life and health is never optional but vital.
